The making of classical edinburgh

This exhibition, showing in Edinburgh City Art Centre from November 2019 till March 2020, examined the impact of A J Youngson’s 1966 publication “The Making of Classical Edinburgh” on the conservation of the New Town. The exhibition contained 20 original prints by Edwin Smith from Youngson’s book, together with 36 of my own new photographs, illustrating both change and conservation over the intervening half-century. The exhibition was organised and promoted by The Aperture Trust.

The Exhibition “GREY GARDENS” showed in Dundee Contemporary Arts from February to May 2016. It looked at modernist architecture in the landscape, and I was invited to contribute photographs of Peter Womersley’s Bernat Klein Studio.
